36,000 ft in the Air

Day One
The Sunset that seemed to Never End

Well!! Tada! It's finally here. The long awaited, procrastinated, story of my travels. It's been in my drafts for days and I'm just now getting to it. 36,00 ft in the Air will cover my 8 day journey to Las Vegas from lift off to the car drive back complete with picture, videos, and details of everything that happened to me that I can remember. Originally this was suppose to be posted WHILE I was in Vegas, but oh well for that idea. Almost two weeks later, here is my story.

I can't say it was the best start, though I suppose worse things could happen. It did help that we were hours early just in case something slowed us down. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose. I drove up to my friend's house with my mom early that morning. She helped me carry my stuff inside.  It was actually my friend's birthday so we got her a present too. We took pictures said our goodbyes, then.. we were off. We went several places  before we actually started our trip to the city with an actual airport (Little Rock). The sky's were cloudy so we knew it was going to rain. Though when we actually got on the interstate we had no idea that the amount of rain and fog would force us to reduce our speed to a mere 30 mph, while other cars abandoned ship to wait the storm out. We pushed through, and low and behold it got better.

We made it to the airport. My first time seeing one actually. (I know, lame =P) A real one that is. We have one in our town but it's only for people wanting to LEARN to fly. Anyways, this would be my first time seeing an airport; in an airport; on a plane. Yay~ for new experiences! We got there and checked our bags in. We were a couple hours early, though that was fine I suppose. My friend and I went to Starbucks(Can't do without ;D) and Burger King to get some food and drinks. We waited and waited and our plane was delayed. =.= We waited and waited some more. Finally it was here and time for loading. Of course I was first. First time on a plane and I take the lead. We were in "B" so there were many people ahead on us on "A" but we were the start of line "B" (Did that make sense? Does it work like that other places? Oh well) The plane was full and we had to sit separate places for me this meant a middle seat between a business man and a cool family oriented mom, or at least that's what they looked like. Both were really nice and we had a nice conversation about the plane, and about different places. I was actually kind of nervous, but it wasn't a bad ride. Plus, my friend and her family always looked back to check up on me. =D Great first time experience. It was a short while before we were landing again in Dallas this time to load the plane again. This time we were semi together, at least I got to sit by my friend. We stayed on the plane to Albuquerque, then from there we went to Vegas. We were always driving into the sun while it was setting, and because of the time differences the sunset seemed to last forever. The plane rides were not as nerve racking as I though, but  I have to say the only thing I hated about the plane ride was the turbulence and boy was there turbulence.
In Vegas it was night time, about 12:00 I think when we landed, so it was an amazing site flying in. All the lights, I wish I could have taken a picture, but all electronics had to be off and I was NOT about to be the one that made the plane crash. >.> Hmph!

Anyways, we got our bags and Shuttled over to Circus Circus, the hotel that we were staying at. Got our room keys then went to the 24th floor. Again! Amazing site! We were right on the strip. Immediately I got everything out and Organized it and immediately after that I was called weird. (No one else does that?) Seeing that we spent our ENTIRE day on a plane we were kind of hungry. Exploring time! First time out on the strip we ate at Denny's which was a couple of "blocks" away. Not the most exciting place, but we don't really have one where we live so it was good enough for us. By this time it was about 1:30 in the morning. Though I have to say, being a city that never sleep everything sure does close early. Unless you want to gamble or eat you don't really have much after 12:00. Seeing as we were both under age to gamble (Under 21) we ate. It was really good. REALLY good. But we soon crashed and went back to the hotel to see what other surprises the next day would hold.

This is a video of when we got there. This will also be upload on YouTube. So, I can't get the video to work, so I'll just post a Youtube video here later.
